Mr. and Mrs. Danny and Penny Shuman of Nevils announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly Marie Shuman of Brooklet, to Jason Nathanial NeSmith, the son of Ms. Joanne NeSmith of Brooklet and Mr. Ken NeSmith and the late Pat NeSmith of Brooklet.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Cora Lee Owens and the late John "Kenneth" Owens of Pembroke and Mr. Robert Shuman and the late Mary Shuman of Brooklet. Holly is a 2004 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a 2006 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College, with a Nursing degree. She is employed at Children's Healthcare of Statesboro as a nurse.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late George Richard and Eloise Head of Smyrna and the late Byron and Bonnie NeSmith of Statesboro and Ms. Fay Lee and the late Reggie Lee of Brooklet. Jason is a 1999 graduate of Southeast Bullock High School. He is employed at Ken's IGA as a store manager.
    The couple has planned to wed on May 5, 2012, at 5 o'clock at Brooklet United Methodist Church. A reception will immediately follow at Snella's Place in Statesboro.
