Ms. Kaye Redmon of Newnan, Ga., is proud to announce the engagement of her daughter, Julia Frances Redmon, to Matthew Keith Whitt, son of Dr. Fred and Donna Whitt of Statesboro, Ga.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Henry L. Ward and the late Mrs. Nettie L. Ward of Pinson, Ala. She is a 2003 honor graduate of Newnan High School and a 2007 graduate of Mercer University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. In 2009 she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southern University. She is employed as a registered nurse at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Camie M. Greene and the late Mr. Donald B. Greene Sr. of Hamlet, N.C., and Mrs. Virginia P. Whitt and the late Mr. J.C. Whitt of Mount Holly, N.C. He is a 2004 honor graduate of Bulloch Academy and a 2008 cum laude graduate of Mercer University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Management and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He is currently enrolled in Georgia Southern University’s Master of Business Administration program, expected to finish in May 2011. He is employed with BB&T in Statesboro as a commercial banker.
       The couple has planned to wed on May 22, 2010, at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Statesboro.
