Tony and Diane Phillips of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Madison Phillips of Statesboro, to Garrett Darsey of Statesboro, son of Jerry and Georgi Darsey.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gene Phillips of Deep Gap, North Carolina, and the late Phyllis Pruitt of Anchorage, Alaska, and the late Kenneth and Betty Turner of Dawsonville, Georgia. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned her degree in public relations and marketing. She is a lead vocalist for the contemporary service at Pittman Park United Methodist Church in Statesboro and a member of the Phi Mu sorority.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Jerry and Marjorie Darsey of Hinesville and George and Renee Garrett of Waynesville, North Carolina. He is a senior at Georgia Southern University, working on his degree in business and finance. He is employed at Renasant Bank in Statesboro and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
The couple has planned to wed on Nov. 25, 2017, at Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville, North Carolina.
