Dr. and Mrs. Henry Arthur McAninch of Spartanburg, South Carolina, announce the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Brooke Pettit of Greenville, South Carolina, to Nathan Emory Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. Emory P. Smith III of Statesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bobo of Spartanburg and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Pettit of Spartanburg. Allyson is a 2006 graduate of Spartanburg High School and she attended Clemson University. She currently is a registered nurse at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley G. McAlum of Savannah and Lothair Smith of Claxton and the late Dr. Emory P. Smith Jr. Nathan is a 2006 graduate of Statesboro High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing from Georgia Southern University in 2010, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He earned his master’s in nursing anesthesia at the Medical College of Georgia in 2013. He is employed as a nurse anesthetist at Gastro Associates Greenville Endoscopy Center.
The couple has planned to wed on April 7, 2018, in Charleston, South Carolina.
