Dr. and Mrs. Henry Arthur McAninch of Spartanburg, South Carolina, announce the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Brooke Pettit of Greenville, South Carolina, to Nathan Emory Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. Emory P. Smith III of Statesboro. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bobo of Spartanburg and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Pettit of Spartanburg. Allyson is a 2006 graduate of Spartanburg High School and she attended Clemson University.
