Sandra and Rickey McDowell of Claxton announce the engagement of their daughter, Brandy McDowell, to David Donnan, son of Judy and Peter Donnan of Cordele.
    The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Claxton High School. She attended Georgia Southern University, where she obtained a bachelor's, master's and specialist degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently employed as a kindergarten teacher at Claxton Elementary School.
    The groom-elect is a 2005 graduate of Crisp Academy. He attended Georgia Southern University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Public Relations. He is currently employed as director of youth ministries at Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
    The wedding is planned for Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
