Mr. and Mrs. Hank McCarthy of Brooklet are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Hillary Ann McCarthy, to Chad Emanuel Brown, son of Mrs. Darlene Lucas Buchan of Brooklet and Mr. Mark Brown of Stilson.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Waugh of Mexico, Maine, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Shuman of Brooklet and Mrs. Brenda McCarthy and the late Al McCarthy of Savannah.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Woodcock of Statesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Brown of Stilson.
       The wedding is planned for October 23, 2010, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Statesboro. The reception will follow.
       No local invitations will be sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
