Mr. and Mrs. William Glenn Davis Jr.

Kathryn Cecile Howard and William Glenn Davis Jr. were united in marriage on July 29th, 2017, at the Statesboro First United Methodist Church in a 6 p.m. ceremony with the Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Arthur Howard III of Statesboro.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Glenn Davis Sr., also of Statesboro.

The church was adorned with fresh white wreaths, flanking white arrangements and towering pew markers.

The worship in music was presented by Pierce Dickens, organist; and Tessa Morris, soloist.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an exquisite ball gown in rich ivory satin. The strapless bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and ruching while crystals encrusted the entire bodice. The cathedral trains were completed with covered buttons and each third placement was a cluster of crystals.

The bride's ensemble was completed with a custom hand-made cathedral veil. The veil started with a hand-beaded border that cascaded into a large scalloped lace pattern that was hand-stitched and encrusted with crystals like the bodice of the bride’s gown.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangeas, quicksand roses, white stock, seeded eucalyptus and patient garden roses accented with small crystal clusters.

Rebecca Dean Purnell of Pensacola, Florida, was the matron of honor. Lauren Nicole Fowler of Augusta, Georgia, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Katherine Peluso of Memphis, Tennessee; Annie Katherine McClellan of Houston, Texas; Chelsea Elizabeth Reardon of Rock Hill, South Carolina; Caroline Montgomery Nichols of Smyrna, Georgia; Brooke Davis Gifford of Decatur, Georgia, sister of the groom; and Duygu Erdogan of Berlin, Germany. Presleigh Grace Hart of Statesboro was flower girl.

The attendants wore various styles of champagne floor-length charmeuse and chiffon gowns. They carried hand-tied bouquets of white hydrangeas, quicksand roses and spray roses.

William Glenn Davis Sr. served as best man. Groomsmen were Claude Arthur Howard IV of Augusta, brother of the bride; John David Gifford of Decatur, brother-in-law of the groom; Grant Henderson Watkins of Atlanta, Blake Allen Eckles of Smyrna, Scott William Burnett of North Augusta, South Carolina; Brennan Alban Palmer of Smyrna and Charles Thomas Standridge of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Davis Kinnebrew Lee Gifford of Decatur, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

James Forrest Olliff of Statesboro and William Cecil Howard Jr. cousin of the bride, were ushers.

Mr. and Mrs. William Cecil Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Grady Thomas Smith greeted the guests at the church.

Programs were handed out by Kendall Brannen Howard and Ashton Bennett Howard, cousins of the bride.

The wedding was directed by Jeanne Anne Marsh.

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at Forest Heights Country Club. Greeting the guests were Ashley Hines Ellis and Cathy Hines Sammons. Ed Bradley, at the piano, provided music as the guests arrived.

The couple left for a honeymoon in Ponte Vedra, Florida, and now reside in Statesboro.
