Mark and Lee Anne Hoppe of Blacksburg, Va., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth, to Steven Denbow, the son of Michael and Cynthia Denbow, also of Blacksburg, Va.
    Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Jerry and Sheila Hoppe of Blacksburg, Va., and Bill and Elise Brady of Statesboro, Ga. She is also the great-granddaughter of Nellie Sowell and the late Mose Sowell of Statesboro, Ga.
    Steven is the grandson of Ben C. Jones and the late Genevieve Jones of Apex, N.C., and Jean and Jerry Moxley of Bethany Beach, Del., and the late Russell Denbow of Syracuse, N.Y.
    Both Elizabeth and Steven are 2002 graduates of Blacksburg High School and both are die-hard Hokies, each receiving Bachelor's and advanced degrees from Virginia Tech. Elizabeth is currently a post doctoral associate at Virginia Tech and Steven works for Balfour Beatty in Springfield, Va.
    An August 14, 2010, wedding is planned in Blacksburg, Va.
