Victoria Leann Herndon and John Douglas Newton

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Herndon of Statesboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Victoria Leann Herndon, to John Douglas “JD” Newton, son of Kathy Newton of Statesboro and the late Don Ray Newton of Millen.

Victoria is the granddaughter of Kay Herndon and the late Jack Herndon of Macon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Terrell Harville of Statesboro. She is a 2010 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a 2014 graduate of Young Harris College with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a 2016 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Master of Business Administration. She is employed in the family business as an insurance agent at Statesboro Agency Inc.

JD is the grandson of Delois Hendrix and the late Wyman Hendrix of Statesboro and Carolyn Newton and the late John Ray Newton of Millen. He is a 2005 graduate of Bulloch Academy and a 2009 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture. JD, along with his brother, farm cotton and peanuts and operate a cattle business on their family farm in Millen.

The couple plans to wed on June 19, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Quinney Oaks Plantation in Millen.
