Mr. and Mrs. Gary A. Futch of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Lester P. Hastings Jr. of Ty Ty, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Marie Hastings of Jacksonville, Fla., to Ryan Michael Niethamer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick John Niethamer.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Donald Robert Brown and the late Mr. Donald Robert Brown and Mrs. Lester P. Hastings Sr. and the late Mr. Lester P. Hastings Sr. Leslie is a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a BS in Early Childhood Education, and received an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology in 2010. She is employed with Seacoast Charter Academy in Jacksonville, Fla.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Fleetwood Dickerson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick John Niethamer Sr. Ryan is a 2001 graduate of James Madison University, where he received a BS in Healthcare Administration. He is employed with GetWellNetwork.
    The couple has planned to wed on October 20, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Statesboro.
