Rachel Ann Gray and Houston Lee Kirkland announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Rachel is the daughter of Darryl Gray of Swainsboro, Ga., and Sheila James of Lyons, Ga.
    Houston is the son of David and Cindy Kirkland of Statesboro, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Kibbie Cowart and Pauline Cowart of Jonesboro, Ga., and the late William Alton Gray and Minnie E. Gray of Port Wentworth, Ga.  Rachel graduated from Georgia Southern University in May 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and is currently employed at Magnolia Coastlands Area Health Education Center in Statesboro as the health careers coordinator.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Jimmy and Inez Cook of Statesboro and the late Dorothy Kirkland of Newington, Ga. Houston will graduate from Georgia Southern University on May 8, 2010, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He will begin graduate school at GSU in August 2010, where he will pursue a Master's degree in Accounting. He currently works at Sea Island Bank in Statesboro.
    The couple has planned to wed on May 22 2010 at Merrywood Baptist Church in Statesboro.
