Sissy Michelle Gatch and Michael Stephen Sapp of Statesboro announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Rebecca Hibbs of Pembroke, Georgia, and the late Michael Gatch of Midway, Georgia. She is the granddaughter of Rebecca Clark of Duluth, Georgia, Lloyd Braddy of Pooler, Georgia, and Wade Gatch of Savannah, Georgia. Sissy is a graduate of Statesboro High School and East Georgia State College, where she earned an associate of arts degree. She attends Georgia Southern University, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food science.

The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sapp of Statesboro and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Crim of Rome, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sapp of Statesboro. He is a graduate of Bulloch Academy and Georgia Southern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in writing and linguistics.  Michael is currently employed by Georgia Southern University and is pursuing a master’s degree in management information systems.

The couple is planning a Savannah wedding in December.
