Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Douglas of Pooler, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katelyn Lee Douglas, to John William Clifton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Clifton of Millen, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mildred Douglas of Pooler and the late Frank Douglas and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Varnadoe of Baxley, Ga. Katelyn received her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Nursing from Georgia Southern University and is currently employed by Memorial Medical Center in the neo-natal unit in Savannah.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Clayton of Sardis, Ga., and the late Inez S. Clayton and Roy and Ruth Clifton, all of Millen, Ga. John is currently employed with Claude Howard Lumber in Statesboro.
    The couple has planned to wed on Sept. 8, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Garden City, Ga.
