Deron and Linda Conner of Metter announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Marie Conner, to Alan Michael Thigpen, son of Alan and Lisa Thigpen of Metter.
    The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of Dot Wright of Statesboro and the late Chuck Wright and Eddie and Sue Rigdon of Metter. Her paternal grandparents are Bertie Conner of Metter and the late Deron Conner Sr. She is the great-granddaughter of Vertie Mae Daniels of Stillmore. A 2006 graduate of Metter High School, she graduated from the Dental Assistant program at Ogeechee Technical College. She is employed as a dental assistant with Help a Child Smile, Conyers, Ga.
    The future groom is the maternal grandson of Lynda Donaldson of Metter and the late Mike Donaldson. His paternal grandparents are Don Thigpen of Portal and Ruth Thigpen of Statesboro. He is the great-grandson of Madge Donaldson of Metter and Mary Lee of Dover. He is a 2005 graduate of David Emanuel Academy and is employed with M & G Fabricating and Construction Inc. of Metter.
    The wedding has been planned for Oct. 16, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the home of the groom’s parents in Metter.
