Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Byrd of Nevils are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Brooke, to Brian Allen McGowan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry McGowan of Eden and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wetzel of North Carolina.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Twiggs of Nevils and the late Eugene Mitchell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Byrd of Nevils. Jennifer graduated from Ogeechee Technical College and is currently employed with Georgia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in Hinesville.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David McGowan of Guyton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Duddley Anderson of Savannah. Brian graduated from Wayne County High School and is currently employed with Custom Marine in Statesboro.
    Jennifer and Brian will be married on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Nevils United Methodist Church in Nevils. A reception will follow in the reception hall.
