Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Alexander of Warm Springs, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sage Elizabeth Alexander, to H. Smith Mathews Jr., both of Savannah, Georgia. Mathews is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith Mathews of Statesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. Paul Alexander and the late Dora Alexander of Waynesville, North Carolina, and Dr. and Mrs. James Campbell of Cantonsville, Maryland. She is a 2009 graduate of Manchester High School, Manchester, Georgia, and Georgia Southern University, where she received a business administration degree in hospitality management in 2013. She is currently employed as the key account manager with The Hive Strategic Marketing Inc. in Savannah.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Jean Mathews and the late Charlie Joe Mathews of Statesboro and Ruth McCann and the late Robert McCann of Avondale Estates, Georgia. He is a 2004 graduate of Bulloch Academy and a 2009 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in business management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He obtained a WBA international diploma in brewing science and technology from the Siebel Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois, and Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany. In 2012, he obtained his masters of business administration from Georgia Southern University. He is the co-founder and managing partner of Southbound Brewing Company in Savannah.
The couple is planning to wed on Dec. 2, 2017, at the Harper Fowlkes House in Savannah.
