Sherri Akins of Statesboro, Ga., announces the engagement of her daughter, Jodi Lynn Akins of Statesboro, to Marcus Terry Nesmith, son of Terry and Karen Nesmith of Cypress, Texas.

The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Herman Akins. She is the granddaughter of the late Math and Josie Allen of Statesboro and the late Rayford and Neva Akins of Statesboro. Jodi is a 2003 graduate of Statesboro High School and is employed with Great Dane Trailers.

The groom-elect is the grandson of James and Irene Davis of Leefield and Inman and the late Lucille Ellington Nesmith of Statesboro. Marcus is a 2000 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and is employed with the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

The couple is planning to wed on Saturday, November 5th, 2016, at 4 p.m. at Dutch Ford Farm in Metter.
