Dr. and Mrs. John C. Adams Jr. of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Elisabeth Adams of Rocky Mount, N.C., to Richard Lewis Sisson of Rocky Mount, N.C., son of Mr. James B. Sisson and Gail Sisson, also of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Adams Sr. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Everett B. Stubbs. Elisabeth is a graduate of Statesboro High School and The University of Georgia, receiving a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Sculpture. She also received a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt Institute.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James L. Sisson of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Richard O. Schoch. He is a graduate of Bulloch Academy and Georgia Southern University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Philosophy as well as a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science.
    Lew and Elisabeth plan to be married at 6 p.m. on July 31, 2010, at Pittman Park United Methodist Church.
