Dr. and Mrs. Leo G. Parrish Jr. of Statesboro and Drs. Rebecca and Charles S. Thomas III of Statesboro and Winston-Salem, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Ann Thomas of Chapel Hill, N.C., to Timothy Daniel Murphy of Chapel Hill, N.C., son of Dr. and Mrs. Daniel F. Murphy of Greensboro, N.C.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary P. McCowan of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Thomas Jr. of Dalton, Ga. She is a 2000 honor graduate of Statesboro High School in Statesboro and is a 2004 magna cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., with a BA in chemistry. She is currently a third-year medical student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Fish of Greensboro, N.C., and Margaret Murphy and the late Robert B. Murphy of Charlotte, N.C. He is a 2000 honor graduate of Greensboro Day School in Greensboro, N.C. and is a 2004 cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., with a BA in physics, where he was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. He is currently a third-year medical student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The ceremony is being planned for May 19, 2007, at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, N.C.
