    Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smith (formerly Lisa M. Wilkerson) of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Shantell S. Roberson, to James Wilson, son of Ms. Fannie Hendrix of Saginaw, Mich.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Almarita Wilkerson and the late Freddie “Bearcat” Wilkerson of Statesboro. The bride also has loving paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie F. Roberson of Brooklet. She is a 2000 graduate of Statesboro High School, a 2004 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Regional Economic Development, and is a 2008 Master’s of Business Administration graduate from Walden University in Baltimore, Md. She is currently employed with the Savannah Economic Development Authority as a project manager.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. Johnny McEarth of Akron, Ohio, and Ms. Annie Lee Wilson of Haynesville, Ala. He is a 1998 graduate of Statesboro High School and is currently attending Savannah Technical College, where he is pursuing a professional career in Aviation Technology. He is employed as a pool technician with Year Round Pools of Savannah.
    The couple has planned to wed in a private double-ring ceremony on September 27th, 2008, at half past two at Snella’s Place in Statesboro.
    After cruising the Eastern Caribbean for their honeymoon, the couple will reside on the coast of Georgia.
