Mr. & Mrs. John Matthew Brown
    Courtney Marie Oswald became the bride of John Matthew Brown on February 21, 2009, during a 2 p.m. ceremony held at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Father Mike Smith officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Michael and Paula Horn of Roswell, Ga., and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Oswald. The groom is the son of EJ “Buster” and Barbara Brown of Statesboro and is the grandson of Jim and Barbara Hayes.
    Given in marriage by her father, Mr. Michael Horn, the bride wore a white beaded gown with a sweetheart neckline.
    Stephanye Vandezande was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa McCurry, Stephanie Hulsey, Enn Powers, Amanda Morales, Ashley Falk and Jennifer Pearlman. Kassidy Shay Oswald served as flower girl.
    EJ Brown, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Lee McCurry, Justin Smith, Martin Miles, Adam Allmond, Cory Akins and Chris Daughtry. Ushers were Erik Howard, Ian Black and Matt Lee. William Presley served as ring bearer.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Knights of Columbus.
    The couple honeymooned at the Paradisus Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and now resides in Statesboro.
