The engagement and upcoming marriage of Deena Nell Booth and Douglas Reid Sasser Jr. is being announced by the couple.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Robert Paul Booth of Champion, Ohio, and Gwendolyn De'don Booth of Warren, Ohio. Miss Booth received a BA degree in music from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., and is a 2006 graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, where she received a master of heritage preservation degree with a concentration in public history. She is currently employed as a project historian in Atlanta.
The groom-elect is the son of Dr. Douglas Reid Sasser of Lynchburg, Va., and the late Latrelle Joyner Sasser. Mr. Sasser began his higher education at Young Harris College before going on to the University of Georgia from which he received the BA degree. He is a 1996 graduate of Emory University's Candler School of Theology, where he earned a master of divinity degree. He is currently employed at Emory University in the Candler School of Theology's Office of Church Ministries Education as program coordinator in Atlanta.
The couple will be married on May 27, 2007, at the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church in Port Wentworth.
