Margaret Grace Adams and Richard Kimbro Stewart were married on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at noon in Orleans Square in historic downtown Savannah. The Rev. James D. Byous officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. William Lanier Adams Sr. and the late William Lanier Adams Sr. of Statesboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Miles Barnett of Ripley, Miss., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Adams of Macon, Miss.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Moore Stewart Sr. of Statesboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Cooper Kimbro of Tiller, Ark., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson Stewart of Columbus, Miss.
The bride is a graduate of Statesboro High School and received a BBA in accounting from the University of Georgia. She is currently co-owner and vice president of Coastal Outdoor Advertising, Inc. in Statesboro.
The groom is a graduate of Statesboro High School and received an electronic technology degree from Swainsboro Technical College. He is co-owner and president of Coastal Outdoor Advertising, Inc. and works with Frontier Communications.
The bride carried a bouquet of red roses with limonium and greenery tied with a white silk ribbon. Included in the bouquet was a double azalea bloom chosen from an azalea bush planted by her father. A large hydrangea bloom selected from a hydrangea bush planted by her grandmother was also included. The bride wore her mother’s diamond and sapphire necklace, a 50th wedding anniversary gift that the bride helped her father select. She also carried a gold and jade cross from the Holy Land that was given to her grandmother by her grandmother’s two sisters, Jennie Grace Dunlap and Margaret Elizabeth Dunlap, for whom the bride was named.
After the ceremony, a horse drawn carriage took the couple through the historic district of Savannah. The couple stayed in Savannah to celebrate their wedding.
A celebration of their marriage will be given in January 2007 at the couple’s home in Statesboro.
The couple has planned a honeymoon trip to the Caribbean.
