Statesboro's Charlie Williams honored with 102nd birthday proclamation

The Bulloch County Board of Commissioners honored Statesboro resident Charlie Williams earlier this week on the occasion of his 102nd birthday with a signed proclamation. Williams served as a sergeant in the U.S. Third Army under Gen. George S. Patton in World War II, including during the Battle of the Bulge. Also, Williams was twice president of Statesboro’s American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 and served as chaplain for the post for 15 years.
