It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Santa greets fans lined up on East Main Street for the parade portion of the downtown Holiday Celebration and Chili Cookoff on Dec. 6.

The sights and sounds of the season filled the streets of downtown Statesboro Dec. 6 during this year's Holiday Celebration.

A F1RST Friday event, the annual celebration featured a Christmas parade, live music and photos with Santa Claus, as well as the much-anticipated Chili Cookoff, which brings out local chefs with their best chili recipes. Hungry locals line up to taste the entries, voting on a People's Choice winner — which went to the Statesboro Police Department.

Best Overall winners, representing the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, took home the trophy for the second year in a row.  The Best Restaurant Chili category was won by Outlaws in the Boro, with the motto, "Food so good it should be against the law."
