Dal Cannady

As an area reporter for a Savannah television station, Dal Cannady has many opportunities to see volunteers in action. That's part of the reason Dal makes time in his busy schedule to include service for others. Dal has completed many years of service to the area Red Cross and currently serves on the Red Cross advisory board for Bulloch, Candler, Jeff Davis, Montgomery, Toombs and Wheeler counties. He sees first-hand the terrible human needs often left in the wake of fires and natural disasters. In fact, when Ellis Wood travels to communities hit hard by natural disasters, Dal Cannady often goes along. Not only does Dal carry his camera to record the activities, but frequently picks up a chainsaw to help out. Dal serves in other ways, too - he teaches Sunday School and heads the Backpack Buddies ministry at Eastern Heights Baptist Church.
