Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brannen of Portal announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodi Elizabeth Brannen, to Richard Hamilton Gilmer, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Gilmer and the late James Richard "Ricky" Gilmer.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rafe and the late Lucille Newton and the late Henman and Dulcie Brannen. A graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BS in chemistry, she received her MSPAS from South University and is a certified PA at Willingway Hospital and a part-time provider at South Georgia Immediate Care.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Dot West and the late Robert West and the late Mary and Dick Gilmer. He is a graduate of East Georgia State College and is a project manager with American Roofing and owner of Southern Ground Home Inspection.

The couple is planning to wed on Dec. 8, 2018, at 5 p.m. at The Copper Barn, located on Aaron Station Road in Portal.
