SYLVANIA — The Screven County Gamecocks celebrated homecoming Friday with a dominant, 54-13 win over Harlem.
Aikeem Mingle set a new school career high in passing at Screven County (4-1, 1-0 Region 3-AA) with 118 yards on an 8 of 14 clip, including a 30-yard touchdown pass to Rashad Hughley. Mingle also rushed for 31 yards.
Jeremy Johnson scored three touchdowns, kicked two extra points and intercepted a Harlem pass while the SCHS starters were still in the game. Johnson now has 17 touchdowns on the season.
Backup Jimmie Robinson (8-79) scored a touchdown and Jacob Smith (3-42) scored a pair. Smith also booted four extra points.
Screven travels to Laney next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
