    PORTAL — The Portal Lady Panthers shut out Emanuel County Institute 8-0 Thursday in five innings at Panther Field.
    Megan Moore got the complete-game shutout, striking out seven.
    Chansley Parker and Mary Lane each went 2-for-2, Megan Anderson went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, Mary Ashley Henley doubles and Nikki Sims tripled for the Panthers in the win.
    Portal returns to action today in a doubleheader at Statesboro's "Battle in the Boro" tournament at Mill Creek beginning at 4 p.m.

    BROOKLET — The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets dismantled Jefferson County 11-2 in five innings Thursday at home.
    The Jackets (6-3, 2-0 Region 3B-AA) were led by Hannah Denmark who finished 4-for-4 wth a run and an RBI. Effie Manahan pitched two scoreless innings, drove in two runs and went 3-for-4.
    Taylor Wilkes pitched three innings, allowed one earned run and went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.
    Southeast Bulloch hosts Portal Monday at 5 p.m.
