SAVANNAH — The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets finished the regular season the same way it started — a two-run win over Calvary Day.
The Jackets (16-4-2, 7-1 Region 3A-AA) knocked off the Cavs 4-2 Tuesday.
Effie Manahan tripled and drove in two runs, Leah McCarthy tripled and drove in a run and Nira Byrd went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Sierra Peebles pitched a complete game and struck out eight.
The No. 1 seed Jackets get a bye in the region tournament Thursday and will face The winner between Dodge County and Swainsboro Saturday in Brooklet.
BA nips EBA, 6-0
Quarterback Don Aaron connected with wide receiver Colin Davis on a 60-yard touchdown pass as Bulloch Academy edged Edmund Burke Academy 6-0 in elementary football action Tuesday.
The Spartans opened the game with a tough Wishbone offense, driving the ball deep into Gator territory. But Davis sacked the EBA quarterback and ripped the ball from his hands to end the threat. On the next possession, he and Aaron hooked up for the game's only score.
Will Aaron also had a interception as he and his brother Don were stalwarts on the BA defense.
Jonathan Beecher and Bowen Hopkins also made some key tackles.
EBA tried to put together a last-ditch effort to score late in the fourth quarter but the Gators held and got the ball over on downs with a little over a minute to play.
