SEB girls beat Screven at soccer
    Southeast Bulloch High School's girls soccer team defeated Screven County, 2-0, on Tuesday in a Region 3-AA game.
    The Lady Yellow Jackets' Ana Olsen scored a second-half goal off an assist by Merekate Schlierf, and Netanya Saurez scored a second-half goal off an assist by Megan Williams. SEB improved to 1-2 overall, 1-0 in Region 3-AA.
   
SHS girls beat Effingham at soccer
    SPRINGFIELD — Statesboro High School's girls soccer team beat Effingham County, 5-0, in a Region 2B-AAAA game Tuesday.
    The Lady Blue Devils were led by Regan Thomas' three goals. Tori Thompson scored a goal and had two assists. Chelsea Wilson scored a goal.

SHS boys beat Liberty County at tennis
    Statesboro High School's boys tennis team defeated Liberty County, 3-2, on Tuesday at Mill Creek.
    The Blue Devils' Jake Orvis won, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1 singles; Lathan Lucas won, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 singles; and Colin Ritchoff and Ben Crawford won, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 2 doubles.
    SHS improved to 1-0.

SHS girls beat Liberty County at tennis
    Statesboro High School's girls tennis team beat Liberty County, 3-2, on Tuesday at Mill Creek.
    The Lady Blue Devils' Amber Jones won, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 singles; Bela Bhushan and Rebecca Lau won, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles; and Rachel Weaver and Deja Holloway won, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 2 doubles.

SHS defeated Screven County at baseball
    SYLVANIA — Statesboro High School's baseball team produced 11 hits en route to a 13-3 victory over Screven County in a non-region game Tuesday.
    Leading hitters for SHS were Jackson Ware (3-for-4), Colin Chance (2-for-4) and Ben Saunders (2-for-4). Kendrick Thompson, Quante Huff and Chance had two RBIs apiece.
    Shawn Blakely earned the win in relief of starter D.J. Grimes. Three other relievers, Will Stuart, Justin Dickerson and Haydon Rollins, combined for four shutout innings.

SHS boys win track & field meet, girls 3rd
    Statesboro High School's boys track and field team won the Statesboro Invitational on Saturday, and the Lady Devils finished third.
    First-place winners were Genevieve Okafor (400 meters); Heather Wasdin, Mahogany Lanier, Okafor and Teisha Murray (4x400 meters); Courtney Reese (300 hurdles); Reese, Anthony Gardner, Juhwan Osborn and Zaquavian Smith (4x400 meters); and Freddie Burden (shot put).
    The next meet is at 4 p.m. today at SHS. Admission is $5.

SHS boys beat Effingham at soccer
    Degammari Matthews scored two goals, and Pablo Martinez and Zac McLendon each scored a goal, as Statesboro High School's boys soccer team cruised to a 4-2 victory over Effingham County on Wednesday.

Screven Co. boys lose to Sav. Chr. at tennis
    SAVANNAH — Savannah Christian defeated Screven County, 4-1, in boys tennis Wednesday.
    Screven County (2-2) was led by Jacob Larisey and Ryan Bazemore, who won, 1-6, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 1 doubles.

    SAVANNAH — Screven County's girls tennis team beat Savannah Christian, 3-2, on Wednesday.
    Screven County (4-0) got wins from Lovey Sheppard, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2 singles; Mallorie Boswell, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), at No. 3 singles; and Pamela Wooten and Kari Lane, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 doubles.

    Southeast Bulloch Middle School's girls soccer team defeated Bryan County, 3-0, on Tuesday.
    Goalkeeper Monica Schubert registered the shutout. Emily Barnard, Natalie Flott and Cole Robertson all scored goals for the Yellow Jackets (1-1).

SEBMS boys beat Bryan Co. at soccer
    PEMBROKE — Southeast Bulloch Middle School's boys soccer team beat Bryan County, 7-0, on Tuesday.
    Goals were scored by Matt Connell, Michael Chambers, Luis Zul, Armando Hernandez. Caleb Carter, LA Anderson and Ethan Sandhagen.
    Assists were made by Anderson, Sandhagen, Miguel Gonzalez, Andrew Cribbs and Andrew Kalaani.
    Goalkeeper Chris Kalaani registered the shutout.
    SEBMS lost to South Effingham on penalty kicks on Feb. 21.
