The Ypsilanti, Mich. native hit .326 with 30 home runs and 84 RBIs in the 2011 season. The outfielder set new Georgia Southern and Southern Conference single-season home run records and was twice named the SoCon's Player of the Month.

Roache finished second in the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby earlier in July. He hit four home runs over the first two rounds to advance to the finals.
