Local Roundup: GSU football season tickets on sale

    Kickoff of the 2013 Georgia Southern Football season is less than 100 days away as the Eagles open their campaign against Savannah State on August 31st at Paulson Stadium. Season tickets for all six home games are now on sale, with prices remaining the same as last year, and available for purchase online at, by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-GSU-WINS, or in person at 203 Lanier Drive in Statesboro.
    Seats on the south side of Paulson Stadium in Section D (between the 40-yard lines) are $145 each and require a $600 annual donation to the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation to purchase. Season tickets for Sections C and E with back support are $140 each with a $300 annual donation.  Bleacher seats in Sections C and E are $135 each with a $120 mandatory donation. Sections B and F offer bleacher seating without back support for $130 per season ticket and without the requirement of an annual donation. Sections J and K on the North side of Paulson Stadium offer bleacher seats for $135 each and are also exempt from the annual donation.
    Economical reserved seats for all six home games are part of the Family Plan where, for $85 per ticket and a minimum purchase of three tickets required, families and friends can enjoy the same seats each game in Sections A, G and the lower level of Section B. No annual donation is required for the Family Plan.

GSU hoops camps
    The Chris Vozab Basketball Day Camp for girls is set for June 10-13 in Hanner Fieldhouse on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
    The camp is for girls, ages 7-18, and features instruction from Vozab as well as the Georgia Southern women’s basketball coaching staff and
players. Sessions run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All GSU camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age grade level and/or gender.

Southeast Bulloch hoops camp
    BROOKLET — Southeast Bulloch Youth Boys and Girls basketball camp for rising third through eighth graders will take place Monday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 5.
    The camp begins daily at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 12:30 p.m.

BA athletics camps
    Athletic summer camps for local and area children make Bulloch Academy a hotbed of activity for the next two months.
    There is an Elementary Basketball Camp (until May 31), an Elementary FUNdamental Football Camp (June 17-20), an Elementary Archery Camp (June 24-27), a Middle School Archery Camp (June 24-27) and an Elementary Soccer Camp (July 15-18).
    All four-hour camps will provide campers with basic fundamentals in a relaxed, fun-fill environment. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt and opportunities to win awards in various skill-level competitions. Members of the Bulloch Academy coaching staff as well as past and present varsity student-athletes will conduct the camps.

GSU baseball camps
The Georgia Southern Baseball Youth Camps are schedule for June 17-20 and July 15-18.
Each camp will offer instruction in all aspects of the game and each player will participate in a game each day.
The camp is offered to middle school players. It will run from July 7 until July 10. The camp will feature instruction on defense, hitting, pitching and other fundamental skills. Each player will also participate in a game each day. All Georgia Southern sports camps are open to any and all applicants and are limited only by the number of slots available per camp and the age, grade level and/or gender of the participant.

GSU hoops camps
    Georgia Southern basketball coach Mark Byington and his staff and players will host an individual camp beginning June 17 and a team camp beginning June 28.
    Registration for the individual camp is due June 10. Walkup registration will run from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, June 17. Participants will learn basketball fundamentals and concepts. Lunch will be served daily from local establishments.
    The camp runs daily for four days. Cost is $150 per camper, $125 for GSU faculty and staff.
    The team camp will be held June 28 and 29.
