After seven matches on the road and a 6-1 start, the Georgia Southern volleyball team will play its home opener today at 6 p.m. against Georgia (4-1) in Hanner Fieldhouse.
    Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth. There will be a tailgate for students in the Hanner parking lot, beginning at 5 p.m., and it's the first opportunity for students to pick up football tickets to the Georgia Southern/Florida football game in November.
    The match against Georgia begins an 11-match homestand for the Eagles, which includes two home tournaments and their first four Southern Conference matches.
    Georgia Southern is coming off a 3-0 victory over Kennesaw state last Saturday, while Georgia suffered its first loss of the season, a 3-0 setback at No. 13 Nebraska.
    The Eagles have won both tournaments they've appeared in so far this season.
