The executive committee of the Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation voted Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, to modify its donor benefit structure to help ensure a successful transition into the Sun Belt Conference next year. The goal of the restructuring is to more closely-align its benefits with the Athletics Department goal of creating more experienced-based opportunities for fans and raising additional resources to be used for anticipated increased scholarship, recruiting and travel expenses. "As we move into the Sun Belt Conference, we will be presented with two distinct pathways we can follow.
