David Hopkins Jordan
ALBANY -- David Hopkins Jordan, 37, of Albany, died Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Willson Hospice House.
    Visitation was held Monday, February 11, 2019, at Kimbrell-Stern from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
    A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday.
    David attended Lake Park Elementary, Deerfield Windsor and Westover High School, as well as Darton College.
    He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Porterfield United Methodist Church.
    David was active in sports, particularly Dixie League Baseball, where he played shortstop and pitcher. He also played basketball, football, golf and tennis.
    He enjoyed fishing and learned the sport at a young age on the banks of a pond in Bulloch County, Ga., standing next to his Granny Flo.
    David's love of golf came from his maternal grandfather. He went on to play on the golf team at Westover High School.
    He enjoyed the outdoors and worked in landscaping for many years and was the owner of Jordan Landscaping.
    David's real love was his family. He loved his brothers, Steve and tried to keep up with his 6-year-older brother. His sister, Alison, was his other mother, whom he ran to when he was hurt or upset as a child, and Spencer was the younger brother David always wanted.
    David remained close to his childhood friends, whom he was loyal to, even into his adult life.
    Survivors include his mother, Cecelia Jordan of Albany; his father, Dr. Stephen M. Jordan of Statesboro, Ga.; a sister, Alison Leigh Jordan; two  brothers, Stephen M. Jordan Jr. and Spencer Jordan, all of Statesboro, Ga.; maternal uncle and aunt, Judge Loring and Virginia Gray of Albany; cousins, Russell Gray, and his wife, Lynn, of Albany; Matt Barfield, and his wife, Liz, of Norman, Okla.; Ansley, Will and Lilia Gray, all of Albany; several relatives in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and California and his black lab, Bella.
    David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell and Frances Looney; and his paternal grandparents, Elisha and Floreine Jordan.
