    Zoning issues dominate the agenda for Statesboro’s meeting, with six requests expected to be heard by the council.
    Among them are three requests to reduce the number of required parking paces at differing locations, including the Statesboro Mall, University Plaza and property on Buckhead Drive.
    Under Statesboro’s ordinance, the city requires a minimum number of parking spaces for businesses based on the type and size of the business.
    Other items on the city’s agenda include:
    • a request for annexation of 1.73 acres in the Whispering Pines subdivision and rezone the property from R-25 to R-10;
    • a request for annexation of 20 acres of land on the east side of Cawana Road immediately north of Bradford Place and 9.69 acres on the west side of Cawana Road and a zoning change to R-15;
    • a request to rezone property at 109 Broad Street from R-4 to Central Business District to allow the operation of a daycare center;
    • a motion to accept the donation of 8.2 acres of land from T. E. Rushing Jr.;
    • a motion to appoint two members to the Alcohol Control Board.
    The city’s meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the city hall council chambers.
