Husband-and-wife business owners Chris and Julianna Clifton are opening their first storefront –WhipItUp Engraving Studio, a custom engraving business specializing in personalized gifts, decor and promotional items.
Previously operating through online platforms and custom orders, the Cliftons say WhipItUp has grown steadily with its diverse product offerings and customer service.
The Cliftons said they are now taking the next step by opening a physical location at 1827 Northside Dr. East in Statesboro.
“We wanted to give people a space where they can come in, browse, and shop,” Chris Clifton said. “Opening a storefront close to downtown gives us the opportunity to better showcase our capabilities and connect with the community in a more meaningful way.”
Clifton said WhipItUp’s advanced engraving technology lets them add detailed designs to anything from small items like logos to big projects like full-sized doors.
Also, they can engrave and cut a variety of materials, including wood, acrylic, leather, glass and metal.
Clifton said WhipItUp combines “technical precision with a creative, family-run business model.” While the technical side of the business is handled by Chris, Julianna leads the creative side. She manages the company's social media presence, curate’s product design and oversees the home decor line.
“I focus on the machinery and design software, she handles the styling, business outreach, online content and we both do the assembly. It’s a true partnership,” Chris Clifton said.
Also, in addition to custom engraving services, WhipItUp offers paint and sip parties featuring custom wood signs that they create.
As they open their office, the Cliftons said that much of their product line is shaped by customers' input.
“We always encourage anybody to reach out with their ideas,” Chris Clifton said. “A significant portion of our sales started with someone asking, ‘Can you do this?’.”
