United Voices for Christ, a local community choir singing together for almost 14 years, recently released a musical CD, called “Just Churchn.”
With song titles like, “Grace and Mercy,” “Just Like Him,” “Storm” and “Well Done,” the recording is gaining a nationwide audience.
Pastor Brock Taylor, founder of United Voices for Christ, wrote all of the songs on the CD.
“The way God gives me songs,” Taylor explained, “He allows me to live through what He wants me to write about. It’s a very encouraging CD about getting through storms and seasons changing and our relationship with Christ.”
Taylor, who is a paraprofessional at Langston Chapel Middle School and the founder of United Fellowship Worship Center, said: “It’s not just vocal ability; it’s a lifestyle, and we want to show the world Who we serve.”
The singers of United Voices for Christ travel around the country, mostly in the lower states, sharing their music with others. Today, Taylor, his wife, Da-Shaundra Taylor and fellow singers will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, for a taping of the “Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel Show” to be broadcast at a later date on the BET network.
Taylor said he receives calls from all over the South in praise of the musical project.
“It encourages us that our music is encouraging others, ministering to others. We want to please God,” he said. “We want people to know who God is.”
“Just Churchn” is available on all online stores and should be available in retail stores soon.
