Two people injured in a drive-by-style shooting near Metter Tuesday are in stable condition, but Candler County Sheriff John Miles is seeking information about the incident.

Around 10:30 Tuesday night, someone drove past a Howard Road location and fired shots, injuring a man and a woman, he said. Neither victim suffered “life-threatening injuries,” but they were both taken to a hospital.

The man was treated and released but the woman was kept for observation, he said.

No description of the suspects or of the car used is available, he said. “There are conflicting” reports, "but we are pursuing leads.”

Miles said he could not at this time divulge suspected reasons for the shootings.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Miles at (912) 685- 2568 or via the Candler County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Tips can be made anonymously, he said.
