Three teens and two juveniles were arrested Saturday night after an altercation at The Platinum Lounge on Proctor Street. After a verbal argument at the club, Statesboro Police found the five young men in a car with apparently stolen and illegally-owned firearms, said Statesboro Police Det. Sgt. James Winskey.

Christopher Allen Nance, 18, Mincey Street, Metter; Herman Ballard, 19, Turner Street, Swainsboro, and Dominique Pereze Butler, 19, McLeod Street, Swainsboro,
as well as two juveniles, were taken into custody shortly after the verbal argument at the night club, he said.

The confrontation began between the five and others at the club, and apparently one of the offenders showed a firearm, Winskey said. Officers located the vehicle with the five offenders after they fled the scene and witnesses called to report the incident.

No shots were fired during the altercation and no one was injured.

Nance was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a deadly weapon to a public gathering, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, felony theft by receiving stolen property, marijuana possession, and disorderly conduct.

Ballard was charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. Butler was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony theft by receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and wanted person. All three were taken to the Bulloch County Jail to await bond hearings and further court action, he said.

One juvenile was charged with unruly juvenile and felony theft by receiving stolen property, then transported to Regional Youth Detention Center in Claxton. The other juvenile was turned over to parents, he said.

The incident occurred the same night several vehicles in the area were broken into, according to police reports.
However, Winskey did not say the incidents were related. Several citizens filed reports regarding windows shattered and valuables stolen from their cars while they were at Platinum Lounge over the weekend.
