A fight between students Wednesday resulted in at least one of the two young men involved being taken to the emergency room.
However, Bulloch County Schools public relations and marketing director Hayley Greene was unable to divulge information about the student’s injuries.
Bulloch County Sheriff’s Deputy Dakota Shayne Womack was dispatched to East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro regarding the incident, according to Bulloch County Sheriff’s reports.
After taking a report, Womack turned over the case to School Resource Officer Will Craig, reports stated.
Greene said two male students were playing basketball at Portal Middle-High School during physical education class when the fight took place. She did not have information on what started the fracas, but said Craig and a faculty member broke the boys up.
Both students were suspended for 10 days “pending a disciplinary hearing.” There were no arrests and Greene said she was informed the sheriff’s office had terminated the investigation.
