Three Tree Coffee is expanding their current coffee shop location at 441 S Main St., Suite 1A by moving their roasting operation into the next door unit - Suite 1B. The grand opening of the new roasting facility is set for Friday, Aug. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m.
"We have offered tours and tastings in our old roasting facility since opening in 2014; however, not many people would attend due to the obscure location," said Three Tree owner Philip Klayman. "Since opening the coffee shop in town, we have found that many customers do not realize their coffee is roasted right here in Statesboro. Now, you can see the roasting process while enjoying coffee, all on The Blue Mile."
For the Aug. 18 grand opening, there will be a performance by Mosaic Band out of Athens. Also, there will be live roasting demonstrations, giveaways, free coffee tastings, new seasonal products and the unveiling of a new coffee blend.
Thirty percent of all food and drink sales that evening will be donated to Rebecca's Café, who partners with the Food Bank to provide meals to the needy.
Since the new roasting facility will be convenient for locals to drive to, Three Tree Coffee plans to start weekly tours and tastings to help engage the community.
"Education is important to us. We never want to stop learning and we always want to share what we've learned, whether about coffee or human trafficking or any other important topic."
Not only will the expansion give customers easy access to their roasting operation, but it will also add more seating space for the coffee shop, create a new room that can be reserved for events, and expand their kitchen. The kitchen expansion will create more food options, starting with a Saturday brunch on Aug. 19.
"August 18 & 19 is going to be a fun weekend," Klayman said. "Not only is it the start of a new phase for Three Tree Coffee, but we welcome new neighbors to our shopping center, including Salon at 441, Savannah Home Consignment Furniture and Big Boy Cookies."
