Statesboro Mayor Jan Moore has been appointed to serve on a Member Services Advisory Council for the Georgia Municipal Association.
The role of the council is to provide ongoing feedback to the association's staff on services needed to help cities operate more effectively and efficiently. The group will meet three to four times a year and is composed of a mix of elected and appointed city officials. It is chaired by association Third Vice President Boyd Austin, the mayor of Dallas.
"Mayor Moore brings great knowledge of city operations and needs to this group," said association Executive Director Lamar Norton. "We appreciate her participating in the council and the role it will play in defining the future of GMA and cities."
Based in Atlanta, the Georgia Municipal Association is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical assistance services to its 521 member cities.
