Sheriff’s investigators arrested a man on rape charges Friday after meeting with an alleged victim in the hospital earlier last week. Robert “Robbie” Spencer Baird of North Leah Road in Statesboro, is charged with rape and interference with a 911 call, said Bulloch County Sheriff Noel Brown. Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies responded Nov. 27 to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where a 33-year-old female victim reported the sexual assault took place on Aycock Road in Brooklet, he said.
