“I’m a middle-class taxpayer like most of you readers. I am tired of the less tax argument. When a millionaire can get a tax break greater than my income, that’s wrong. I do not have an estate large enough to be taxed, so it seems the only people who care are the rich on this one, too. When will our congressman do it, something that will help us?”
“Georgia Southern would be at least 7 and 1, maybe undefeated, if Mike Sewak was still coaching and running the option. Our offense wouldn’t scare a Division 3 team. Our opponents are elated that we dropped the option.”
“In reference to the county employees gettin’ paid to do a job but stay on the computer playin’ games. Tell me more about how three deputies can make over $100,000 a year. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to hire more staff than to give overtime to certain employees?”
“Tell me how a salaried county employee can receive three days comp time when they don’t even work any overtime. They work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it doesn’t count against their vacation time? That’s our tax dollars hard at work.”
“I am so excited that we have a president that stands for truth. He’s a great leader. And I am so excited that he’s coming to Statesboro. May God bless him as he leads our country.”
“I sure hope that the Republican Party is paying for all this and not the Statesboro-Bulloch County government. Because I’m a Democrat and I sure don’t really want to have to be payin’ … payin’ for all this crap because I don’t wanna go. I’m not gon’ be there and I don’t believe that the Democrats that are in Bulloch County should have to pay just because of taxes and all that stuff. So, I hope the Republicans are payin’ for having Bush down here.”
“This is Monday a.m. and I noticed in another media source that Bulloch’s Democratic chairman, who happens to be a full-time employee of GSU, said he was spending the entire day out on the streets protesting the president’s visit. Last week, GSU sent an email to employees telling them to take the vacation if they left their jobs to attend the visit today, Monday. I wonder, did the Democrat chairman take leave?”
“I think that it is a shame and disgrace and woe unto all these pastors in Bulloch County that’s puttin’ members out of their church and callin’ family members, former members, threatenin’ them. But they say they have the love of God within them.”
