Police, US Marshals hunt escapee in Metter
Jimmy Page Jr.

According to the Metter Advertiser, Metter Police Department and the US Federal Marshals Office remain on the lookout for fugitive William Jimmy Page Jr., 39, who is believed to have been in Metter at the time of his disappearance.

The suspect, said police Investigator Justin Wells, was out of jail on a federal pre-trial release and had been court-ordered to wear an ankle monitor.

"He cut the monitor and fled," Wells said, stating that the monitor had been found in the proximity of Metter Intermediate/Metter Middle School. Because of the nature of the charges against Page, Wells said, school officials put the school into lock-down mode for the majority of the day Friday.

An aerial search and a ground search ensued, with other agencies participating in the search.

Anyone having any information on Page's whereabouts can contact Justin Wells, (912) 685-2190.
