A Reidsville couple died in a crash March 12 in Evans County when one driver pulled into the path of another.
Derril Waters, 72, Bubba Kennedy Road, Reidsville, was driving east on Bay Branch Road around 6:15 a.m. when he failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of Bay Branch Road and U.S. 301 South, according to an incomplete report by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Chris Palmer.
Waters, driving a 1998 Cadillac, pulled into the path of Garcia Pedro Pina, 37, Winter Oak, Lane, Charlotte, NC., who was driving north, Palmer said.
Pina's vehicle struck the Cadillac on its right side, and both vehicles came to rest off the roadway, he said.
A passenger in Waters' car,   Betty Waters, 71, was killed as a result of the crash. Derril Waters died later from injuries sustained in the accident, Palmer stated.
Pina suffered visible injuries, and six passengers in his vehicle complained of minor injury, he said in the report.
The accident remains under investigation, said GSP Sgt. Chris Lamb.
