Two men are behind bars after a Statesboro Police investigation that netted omore than $7,000 worth of steroids and other dangerous drugs, said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.
A search warrant executed Friday at 19 West Jones Avenue resulted in the arrests of Jason James Vance, 24, and Oliver Brendon Gil,19, who both resided at the incident location, he said.
"The Statesboro Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit conducted an investigation into illegal sales of steroids ... As a result of the investigation Vance and Gil were arrested" on several drug and other charges, he said.
More than 400 pills and tablets were seized, as well as 3,200 doses of injectable drugs, he said.
Gil and Vance were taken to the Statesboro Police Department for processing and then to the Bulloch County Jail to await further court action, he said.
Vance was found to be in possession of the following Schedule III Steroids — Testosterone Enenthate, IGF-1, Testosterone Proprionate, Nandrolone Deconate, Methandienone, Fluoxy Mesterone, Testosterone Cipionate, Mesterone, Dianiabol and Clenbuterol, York said.
He was also charged with possession of the following dangerous drugs — Lipitor, Fosinopril, Clonidine, Zetia, Inderal, Lasix, Glucophage, Clomid, Tamoxifen Citerate, Pregnyl, Celexa, Vigara and Finesteride.
Vance was also charged with possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of drug related objects (this included new syringes, glass vials and other items for dispensing or using illegal drugs).
"Vance may also faces additional charges after unknown liquids that were seized are analyzed by the GBI Crime Lab," he said.
Gil was charged with possession of testosterone and possession of drug related objects, York said.
The total street value of the seized drugs is approximately $7,5800. " This case is still under investigation," he said
