Police Report 6-22-11 - JAMES STREET A man was arrested after a short foot chase

Incidents
    KENT STREET — A woman reported $385 stolen.
    WEST JONES AVENUE — Someone cut a padlock off a door and stole electric cords, an air conditioner and a TV. In an unrelated incident, a man located scaffolding stolen from an Institute Street address.
    JAMES STREET — A man was arrested after a short foot chase. He apparently stole clothing from Dollar General on Northside Drive West.
    EAST JONES/PARKER APARTMENTS — A man was arrested after a domestic dispute.
    HARDEN ROAD — A man was arrested for criminal trespass after an earlier incident where he was served a criminal trespass warning. During the first incident when police were called, a woman said he struck her car causing damage.
    SPLASH IN THE BORO — One woman reported a key, Nintendo DS, portable TV, Zune, wallet and handbag stolen from a car. In a separate incident someone reported the theft of an MP3 player, wallet and purse from a car.
    In a separate incident, a young child was found after the park closed and taken to the police department. The mother called searching for her child and retrieved the child, but child protection authorities were notified.
    BRANNEN STREET — A woman told police someone unknown left trash in her yard.
    WEST INMAN STREET — A man went to the hospital after an unknown person struck him in the head with a board.
    EAST KENNEDY STREET — A person reported the theft of Nintendo 64 games, oak chest, DVDs and a TV.
    WEDNWOOD COURT — in one home, a person reported the theft of an air compressor. Another complainant said cooper wire was stolen from the home.
    CAMPUS CLUB APARTMENTS — A person reported the theft of an iPod and Xbox controllers.

Arrests

    Norman Howard, 44, Akins Circle, Brooklet — theft by taking motor vehicle, theft by deception, parole violation, obstruction, giving false information.
    Christina Dawn Meyer, 32, Lucas Street, Newington — probation violation.

Incidents
    RUSHING MOBILE HOME PARK — (Statesboro) A man and his son argued over the son not paying rent.
    TAMI SHERI LANE — (Statesboro) A woman reported she suspected evicted tenants broke into the home in which they had lived and caused damage.
    MARIA SORRELL ROAD — (Clito) A woman told deputies her step daughter, who lives near her, makes obscene finger gestures to her and she wants it stopped.
    ARCOLA ROAD —(Brooklet) A man noticed an unknown man in a red car with the hood up as he entered a private pond house property. When he found the house door standing open, he returned to where the man had been, but he was gone. Deputies were not able to immediately locate the suspect.
    HUNTERS POINTE DRIVE — A woman said someone shot a car window with a BB gun.

    Officers issued 10 traffic citations Friday through Sunday.
    Anthony Stephen Gonzales, 19, Campus Club — possession of marijuana ,  underage possession of alcohol, possession of drug related objects.
    Kevin Mayo, 19, 6080 Fairlong Point, Acworth —underage possession of alcohol, possession of drug related objects.
    Marquis Leonard Marshall, 19, University —underage possession of alcohol, drug related objects.
    Dustin Shannon Smith, 21, Polk Road, Ellabell — DUI, possession of marijuana, failure to stop at stop sign.
    Nathan Virgal Swain, 40, Amanda Drive, Jesup —giving false information to an officer.

Incidents
    FRIDAY to SUNDAY —Officers assisted four motorists, responded to four alarms and one motor vehicle accident, returned found property, issued five traffic warnings and one campus parking citation.
    MONDAY — Officers issued two traffic citations, assisted one motorist, assisted one sick person and responded to three alarms.
    UNIVERSITY VILLAS - Officers responded to a loud noise complaint.
